DIY Dupe Modern Art Deco 3-Legged Coffee Table: How to Make a Modern Art Deco Coffee Table for just $90

We’re rounding out our DIY Dupes with this beauty of a coffee table! This Art Deco style table was SO simple to create and looks super similar to the nearly $1k table it was inspired by! Keep reading to learn exactly how we did it!

What You’ll Need

How to Create the Coffee Table

  1. First, decide how far apart you want each leg to be from each other. For our look, they needed to be close but not touching so we wanted them about 5″-6″ apart.
  2. Next we found the center point on our tabletop and set the legs on top of it roughly where we thought they should go. Then we just measured the distances between the legs and the distance from the edges to the legs and kept adjusting until they were all roughly equal and centered.
  3. We outlined each pipe using a pen on the tabletop so that we would know where the liquid nails should go. Once each circle was drawn, we removed the pipes and put liquid nails where each circle was.
  4. Next, we set each pipe down on top of each circle of liquid nails. To make sure they were secure, we applied another bead of liquid nails all the way around the outside as well as around the inside of each pipe.
  5. Once the liquid nails were dry and cured, we mixed baking powder into our paint to achieve a thick consistency and painted the whole table. One helpful thing we might do if we were to do it again is paint the whole table first with flat spray paint to prime it, but the baking powder paint adheres just fine if you don’t do this (you’ll just need more coats). Ours took 3 coats total of baking powder paint.
  6. Once dry, apply the matte polycrylic in thin coats and follow the directions on the can. Once this is dry, your new table is complete!
