Let’s face it – sometimes your bedroom is last on the list of spaces you style because you and your partner might be the only ones who see it. But we say it should be the opposite – it should come first!! Your bedroom is a room you spend a lot of time in and it should be a relaxing retreat for you to come home to at the end of the day. An easy way to immediately set the tone for the space is to add a rug. The colors, textures, and patterns in rugs can really change the look and feel of a room.
Personally, I wanted to create a very tranquil and relaxing (think spa/hotel-like) space, so I went with a neutral, monochromatic rug with pattern in the texture. The Ivory Raised Ogee Trellis Nursery Area Rug in a 7’10″x10′ from Rugs USA was absolutely perfect for my bedroom! It completely shifted my space from being playful and bold to feeling more peaceful and relaxed. It is literally the softest rug I’ve ever stepped foot on but cleans up beautifully. Since our wood floors are quite dark, I wanted something that would contrast them and bring more lightness to the space. Thick shags are always so cozy and perfect for a space where the traffic will mostly be barefoot.
